The CoachWorld Vision

Why the old coach training model has failed.
If you look closely at all the coach training sites on the net, you'll notice a glaring similarity among them.  Every site has just ONE president, founder, director or CEO. This in turn makes them the single source of content that drives their site and provides training and direction for their view on the future of coaching.

Take Coachville for example. Thomas Leonard was the founding father of modern coaching and a legend in his time. Thomas cranked out more content and gave more direction to the coaching community than anyone before or since him.  His unprecedented work puts Thomas at the top of the 'coaching pyramid'.

Just like water trickles down to the valley from the top of the mountain when it rains, all the great and useful content for Coachville came from Thomas Leonard.  This model works beautifully as long as the person at the top of the pyramid is always there providing content and direction.

Such was not the case with Thomas. It was a terrible blow to the coaching community the day he died.  However, it exposed a major flaw in the traditional coach training model. If all your content comes from one person and they die (which they will), the content dries up and there's nothing but dust and cobwebs at the bottom. Unfortunately, that is how most coach training sites are being run today.

Enter the CoachWorld model. The new paradigm.
The pyramid model is flawed by virtue of its design.
If all other coach training organizations have a model that can't survive death, meaning the death of their content provider, then it's only a matter of time before they close their doors. Or, they simply offer stale, old content that has never been updated and sell it to whoever will buy it.

CoachWorld has created a new coach training model.  A model that will survive changes and can continue to flourish long after its founder is dead and gone.  A model that does not depend on only one person to provide content and direction to the entire coaching community. We call this new coach training the 'core' model.

Just like the earth has a core, it also has layers. The new model, to survive any loss must also have layers.  At the center of the core is the "Dream Keeper". Their job is to keep the dream, mission and vision of CoachWorld intact and be sure that the ship stays on course and is best directed to serve the coaching community.

The first outer layer from the Dream Keeper is the "Top 10 Advisors". This group is made up of highly advanced coaches, thought leaders and visionaries that  have their fingers on the pulse of coaching and are the 'advisors' to the 'Dream Keeper'. They provide feedback, ideas, vision, direction, contrary opinions and insight into the current state of coaching, its best practices and the future vision of coaching as it affects coaches in particular and the world in general.

The next outer layer contains the Team Leaders and Project Leaders.  Project Leaders are volunteers that take on the responsibility of managing, organizing and finishing content projects.  CoachWorld has several projects available like "Income Streams for Coaches" and "Ultimate Self Care" for coaches interested in a real challenge.

Team leaders are highly experienced coaches who will take on the responsibility of overseeing the departments of CoachWorld such as the "Department of Internet Marketing", the "Department of Personal Development" or the "Department of Metaphysics". Experts in their field, these coaches will head departments containing curriculum and training for coaches interested in that facet of coach training. Team leaders will provide direction, content, and keep their "ear to the ground" regarding what works for their department in the coaching community. They will determine what is being sought after: such as training, products or anything else by listening to the coaching community at large.

The final outer layer is the CoachWorld general co-op coaches and free members. These folks are the life blood, heart and soul of CoachWorld. Members also help promote, guide and evolve the art and practice of coaching worldwide through submission of ideas, suggestions and participation in projects including the free R and D team. Unlike other giants in the industry, CoachWorld relies on its members for their view of how coaching should be, what tools they believe they need to be better coaches and how they see the future of coaching.

So how will CoachWorld not fall victim to the "pyramid model" of traditional coach training sites? The answer is simple. It's all in the layers.

Content will not come from one person, but from the members, Team Leaders, Project Leaders, Top 10 Advisors and the Dream Keeper.  Therefore, CoachWorld has effectively eliminated dependency on any one person and this model can be perpetuated regardless of who's at the helm. There may have only been one Thomas J. Leonard, but there's a spark of him in each and every coach. Bring together 10,000 coaches to work on and deliver content and you have several Thomas Leonard's present and available.

So when the Dream Keeper dies, and he will, one from the Top 10 Advisors will take his place, since they were the closest to that position. In turn, that leaves an open slot in the Top 10 Advisors.  One of the Team Lead / Project Lead group will take the place of the Top 10 Advisor slot, since they are the next closest layer. Then, from the general membership, one will take the place of the Team Lead / Project Lead.

In Conclusion...
As you can see the CoachWorld model provides for succession and continuance of CoachWorld that in effect, cheats death and keeps the machine running, evolving and providing the best coach training possible through the efforts of the coaching collective, year after year.

After hearing about the CoachWorld new model, many coaches have called it the "new paradigm". We were surprised and delighted by such a response. And others have called it "a shot of inspiration for the coaching community". We'd like to think so too.

It's time for a new coach training organization to take the reins of the future of coaching in its hands and become the leader that our industry so desperately needs. We believe that leader will be CoachWorld and together we can accomplish this.
